Fig. 9 Schematic illustration of the roles of gonacin in the regulation of appetite, glucose release, food transit and ovarian development Gonacin is a C-terminal cleavage product of profibrillin-2 and mainly secreted from the early-stage germ cells of fish, capable of promoting ovarian development. Gonacin can also traffic to the liver, brain and intestine to stimulate glucose release, food intake, and food transit respectively.
