Definition
A pentapeptide comprising of L-tyrosine, D-alanine, glycine, L-phenylalanine and D-leucine residues joined in sequence by peptide linkages. It is a synthetic delta-opioid agonist that induces hibernation, promotes survival of neurons and glial cells in the CNS, and exerts neuroprotection.
