Transcript variant 1 (NM_001423807.1) encodes the longer isoform of the Srrm4 protein, which contains the eMIC domain. Transcript variant 2 (XM_021476416.1) has a 16 nt microexon near the 3′ end that creates a frame-shift, resulting in a truncated protein lacking the eMIC domain. The asterisk indicates microexon.
